Trumpeter 1/24 P-51D Mustang
By Tom Crayne
This is 1/24 P-51D Mustang by Trumpeter. I really liked this kit. The detail is really good and the parts went together very well. A while back, I saw a profile of an Israeli P-51D Mustang in a book. So, I knew then that is what I want to do with this kit. The mustang I chose was very similar to standard WWII Mustang. So, the kit out of the box was perfect for this project. I was able to obtain the decals from an aftermarket decal company. As I mentioned before the kit went together with an major problem. So, the basic assembly was pretty fast. Badger 150 with Tamiya paints was used to lay down the basic scheme. I like to build my models as if they have seen combat or they have been used and abused. So, weathering was done with pastel powers by Micro-Mark. Very good stuff I highly recommend it to everyone. Over all, I am very satisfied with the end result. I am very happy with trumpeter kit and I will be building another one in the near future. Now, that I´m done with my 1/24 kits, I need to get back to my 1/35 Dora rail gun. I hope you all enjoy my model.
