Airfix 1/24 Spitfire Mk. I

The markings are for the plane that actor Robert Shaw supposedly flew in the movie "Battle of Britain". I used the kit decals and hand made the (AI A) the tail code and flight pennant which looks oversized but is correct size according to the movie.

I added real brass screens to the radiators and lots of stuff to the cockpit but the scan didn't focus well enough to see it. It rewarding to be able to see all the detail of kits this size.

Metal barrels in the wings for machine guns and scratchbuilt wheel wells. I burned holes in the red tapes used to cover the gun barrels to simulate the guns firing through them.

The glare from the flash shows the semi gloss coat as soon on the planes used on the movie "Battle of Britain" and again a good view of the oversized flight pennant. This was one of the toughest items to get right.
