Vintage Fighter Series 1/24th Curtiss P-40 Kittyhawk
By Martin Planes
It was so long ago I issued part 1 (September 2008 I think!) it’s almost a cheek to call this part 2 but here goes.
Yep, time has got the better of me again and would you believe I only actually finished her a couple of weeks ago.
In fact when I tackled this project again in earnest I almost had to blow off a couple of mm of dust!
Anyway overall I am pleased with the overall effect and the shot showing the Allison engine on my PC’s screen I hope comes out.
The pictures I know are not great but it should give you an idea of what I was trying to achieve.
The kit is OK but it took a lot of patience to get it to look good.
Vintage Fighter Series P-47 however is a completely different kettle of fish and I only hope they keep up that standard and bring out a Corsair, Typhoon or griffon engine Spitfire!
I’m going to give this a stable mate next and tackle Trumpeter’s Bf 109G and convert her to an F with a tropical filter into ‘Black 6’.
Until the next time.
