Scratchbuilt 1/32 Ar 240C Nightfighter
By Larry Hawkins
I started out with a Revell Bf 110 that was trashed and modified the fuselage to the plans that were blown up from line drawings.
The fuselage was widened using Plastruct square tubing. The nose is a vac piece from a Combat Models Ju 88 vac kit. I attached the vac to the nose and added Bondo to it and hand formed it to the plans.
The tail planes were made from scrap sheet from vac kits and I added the tail which was made from Bondo and thin sheet plastic.
Nacelles are made out of PVC pipe. These were cut so they'd fit the wings from the trashed Revell 110 kit, plus a trashed Stuka to get the shape of the wings.
Antenna is plastic tubing with 110 G-2 antenna added for the radar LEDs.
The canopy is a mix of vac ones I have. Landing gear is 110 again, except the wheels and tires which are True Details 1/48th scale Ju 88, the fit the plans perfect.
Decals are from the scrap box.
