Revell 1/32 Hawker Typhoon

By Angelo Picardo

I managed to get hold of the Paragon detail/conversion set before I got hold of the Revell kit. I eventually tracked one down and brought the two items together. Paragon provided a new cockpit and canopy, exhausts; propeller blades and spinner, rocket projectiles and wheels. I engraved the panel lines and re-did the fasteners using a hypodermic needle mounted in a pin vice. The model was painted with Humbrol enamels. This model was rebuilt twice after being dropped on two separate occasions. I am very much loathed to move it! The markings are from the spares box, except for the squadron codes which were painted on through a mask made from artist’s masking film. Paragon make some really fantastic sets and it is good to see them back in production.
