Revell 1/32 Fw 190A-5/U12
By Thomas Blumenthal
Flown by Leutnant Erich Hondt, 2./JG 11 in Husum Oktober the 8th 1943. As extra kits I used the Verlinden detail set, Vrrlinden flaps, Verlinden harnesses, Cutting Edge Modelworks corrected inboard wind cannon bulges, Jerry Ruthmann wheel set, Jerry Ruthmann whell well opening correction set, Jerry Ruthmann R1 twin gun pods and a big amount of putty. The whole modell was sanded complettely and ingraved.
New fuel, oil and hydraulic lines were added in the engine region the MG cover was reworked and its inner surface was rescratched again. In the Cockpit I builded a sheeps pelt (fur) in the pilots seat and I added the missing tackles (towropes) for the rear wheel and off course the brake lines too.
The main landing gear covers had to be reworked and partially made new (scratchbuilt from Evergreen plastic styrene) because the kit parts were useless.
The exhaust pipes of Revell/Hasegawa were drilled out and opened with a sharp knife. The missing exhaust pipes under the fuselage made from vein end shells (?) that I reworked. The decals are a self made project because at this time the Eagle Cals decals were not there. For the painting job and weathering I used colours from Gunze Sangyo, Revell, Alclad and pastel oil.
