Revell 1/32 MiG-29 Fulcrum A
By Martin Morkowsky
Here I have my newest roll-out for you, it´s a MiG-29 Fulcrum A of the German air force, which they got from the former people´s army (NVA) in East-Germany (DDR) in 1989/90.
They got twenty single-seater and 5 double-seater (the UBs). But now to the kit itself, it´s the only MiG-29 model in this scale, it´s well detailed, except the cockpit, there I used some PE parts, some PE parts has been used on the rest of the plane, too. Fittings are very well, too, except the canopy, but there I´m going to find a solution to show it opened. Attaching the landing gear is little bit trickyand you have to put enough weight to the nose.
Building itself took a lot of fun and went straight forward, so we can now choose the way of painting this wonderful-styled bird. You can choose between 3 versions, one Russian (with shark mouth), one German standard Norm 90J painting (the grey one) and wonderful coloured anniversary bird. As you can see, I chose the last one, it shows the anniversary plane of the JG73"Steinhoff", which is now to be the first squadron in Germany, which gets the Eurofighter Typhoon. The MiG-29s were sold to Poland for 1 Euro per plane.
For the painting I used Revell, Tamiya and some metalizer colours (Alclad II, testors etc) and did only a very light wheatering, cause these birds are mostly very clean. The decals are very thin, with a little Mr Mark softer you can handle them very easy .
So I hope you enjoy the pics of the German 40th anniversary MiG-29 , if you have any questions, just feel free to mail me.
