I finished this one back in 2009. The figures are Tamiya armor kit figures with scratchbuilt details/clothing.

I did the wood grain effect on the fuselage by drawing on the paint with colored pencils then softening/blending the lines with a brush dampened with thinner.

I scratchbuilt the propeller by carving it from laminated pieces of basswood. I didn't have any dark wood that had fine-enough grain to look right in 1/32nd, so I tried to make the dark layers by soaking basswood strips in stain for a week. The stain didn't penetrate all the way to the center, but it did leave nice guidelines for re-staining after the carving was done.
