Trumpeter 1/32nd MiG-3

By Hilmar Klemm

After a few years I tried to build a Trumpeter MiG-3.

I used my old Humbrol or Revell colors.

Some things in the cockpit were scratchbuilt, belts, equipment behind the headrest and something else.

During to colored the canopy it will break into halves. So I had to build a new upper element of the canopy above the pilot's head and to insert this element into the broken frame.

The undercarriage is a little bit poor, so I scratchbuilt the complete mechanics of the undercarriage.

Both sides.

It took 5 hours to build the little stick and the cable which will close the gear door when the gear comes up.

Once on picture of a restored MiG-3 I saw, that the opening of the cooler has some ribs, so they were also scratch-built.
