Vector | 1/32 P&W R-2800 Engine (Early and Late versions)

Firstly, this is a very impressive resin engine set, being basically a kit unto itself! I ordered two of each version (Early Type A/B and Late Type C) after hearing that they would be available! Each set contains the standard high quality (bubble free) cast resin (light grey resin color) parts to complete one engine with different magneto options and ignition wire harnesses. You even get two extra cylinders! The sets come packaged in a regular ziplock bag, so they must be handled carefully! There is no flash at all, and the only parts that were damaged from shipment were the small ignition spark plugs that are cast into each cylinder... but since I plan on drilling holes into them to add soft wire cables for the ignition cables it is not a big deal! One of the more interesting details of this new engine is that it has a fully detailed rear accesory section making an exposed engine that much more inviting in the host model!

This set will only require minimal clean up work to remove the smaller parts from their carrier blocks, and a little sanding to remove the casting flash from the larger parts. As seen in the included pictures: there is a comprehensive and well detailed instruction sheet that not only shows the assembly of the engine, but also gives the modeler a description of the colors to be painted. Very well presented!

I am very impressed with this new 1/32 scale engine and I recommend this set to any modeller who would like an accurate and well detailed P&W R-2800 engine.

One small thought that does come to mind while admiring this beautiful little "Jem" is it would be nice if MOSKIT of Russia would consider producing a metal exhaust set to match this engine!

This set is compliments of my own wallet!
