VENTURA DECALS V3281
RNZAF North American Harvard Mk II, Kiwi Roundel, Red Checkers Aerobatics Team 1/32nd Scale

The RNZAF used a large number of Harvards over many decades. However right at the end of their service life they were most famously known for their aerobatic team “The Red Checkers”. With their striking Mainplane grey and International Orange scheme adorned with red and white checker cowls they really stood out from the crowd. Ventura decals has done a wonderful job of producing a decal sheet to represent one of these machines. NZ1076 is well known in NZ Aviation and survives airworthy to this day in private hands. The decal sheet is very impressive and is totally devoted to this one airframe. What strikes me is the amount of stencilling this aircraft had! It has all been faithfully reproduced on this sheet. Beautifully printed and very thin for that ‘painted on’ look. The instructions are as always very detailed, with several photos and decal placing instructions. This aircraft can also be built without the checkered cowl to represent her in standard RNZAF Service.

Conclusion

A beautifully put together sheet that gives you a striking option for the Kitty Hawk Texan, highly recommended. Thanks to Ventura for the review sample.

Decals can be purchased directly from Ventura Publications.
