Contact Resine | 24012: Zero Wheels in 1/24th Scale

Reviewed by Mark Proulx

Contact Resine continues to release new resin items for the 1/24th scale kits from Trumpeter. This is a review of their replacement wheels for the Mitsubishi Zero.

The wheels are shipped in a small plastic container without instructions. This is a very simple replacement for the kits vinyl wheels, and instructions are not required. Two main wheels are supplied. They are cast in the familiar tan resin used by Contact Resine. Surface hub detail appears to be very good. The wheels are bulged and flattened. However, they do not appear to be overstated as seen on other wheel sets. A small casting block and slight flash around the circumference is easily removed and cleaned up.

For many reasons, modelers prefer not to use vinyl wheels supplied by manufacturers. I believe that these new wheels will be a welcome addition to anyone wishing to build the Trumpeter Zero.
