"Mustang Madness" Group Build Gallery

By Kevin Futter

The Mustang Madness Group Build ran from 1 August 2011 to 1 June 2012, inspired by the release of Tamiya's magnificent large scale P-51D kit. Six members managed to finish eight models during the GB, and we present them here for posterity, in no particular order.

Member "Cpig" with "Old Crow"

Joe used Tamiya's Mustang kit and painted the markings using custom paint masks from his own Scale Precision range. Please check out Joe's build thread in the GB for more details.

Member "dashotgun" with "Sweet Arlene"

Dave used Tamiya's P-51D kit and some PYN-Up decals to produce Sweet Arlene. Please check out Dave's build thread in the GB for more details.

Member "LSP_Matt" with RAAF P-51D

Matt used Bandai's big 1/24 Mustang kit and some decals from Aussie Decals. Please check out Matt's build thread in the GB for more details.

Member "LSP_Ron" with RCAF P-51D

Ron used Tamiya's P-51D kit and some rare Leading Edge decals to build a RCAF Mustang from 403 Squadron City of Calgary. Please check out Ron's build thread in the GB for more details.

Member Michael Satin with an Israeli P-51D

Michael used Tamiya's Mustang kit combined with some decals from Sky's Decals. Please check out Michael's build thread in the GB for more details.

Member "xmh53wrench" with "Baby Jean"

Lou used Revell's infamous 1/32 P-51B kit and pumped this one out in record time! Please check out Lou's build thread in the GB for more details.

Member "xmh53wrench" with "Full Bird"

This time Lou turns Revell's 1/32 P-51B into a fictional racer, calling it Full Bird. Please check out Lou's build thread in the GB for more details.

Member "xmh53wrench" with "Galloping Ghost"

Lou converted Airfix's big 1/24 P-51D kit into the famous (and tragic) racer Galloping Ghost, and did a brilliant job. Please check out Lou's build thread in the GB for more details.

Congratulations to our finishers, and thanks to everyone who participated.
