Comet 1/32 Grumman TBF Avenger

This is my Grumman TBF Avenger. The model is actually a Comet Speedy Built stick and tissue kit that sold for 50 cents when I was a kid. I found one on the back shelf of a local hobby shop for $3.50 and I bought it for old times sake. A little dimensional check showed that the model was less than a 1/4 of an inch less than 1/32nd scale. The fuselage was inlaid with 1/16th dead soft balsa,the wings were covered with 1/32nd balsa sheet, the tail assembly was made from 1/8th balsa sheet. The landing gear, propeller, motor and cockpit details are all plastic. I used my printer to print the canopy from the kit to a piece of clear plastic, formed it and installed it. Control surfaces were simulated using Chartac 1/16 tape. The model was painted using Testors Dope.
